HOKA ONE ONE RINCON 3 Performance Review

The HOKA ONE ONE running shoes are famous by its excellent cushion performance. HOKA ONE ONE has several series running shoes. And each series has different models. If you are unfamiliar with the running shoes, it would be hard to find the differences.

Today, we want to share a simple performance reviews of the new released HOKA ONE ONE RINCON 3 with you.

  1. Forefoot sole 24mm, rear sole 29mm, the drop height is 5mm. It keeps the same drop height as last generation.
  2. The insole still uses CMEVA foam and rolling balancing technology.
  3. The unit weight of US9 is about 205g, it’s lighter about 10g than last generation.
  4. The reducing weight is mainly due to the optimization of CMEVA foam, and it uses lighter vamp material.
  5. The first released colorway Rincon is attractive.
  6. Although it’s lighter than last generation, but the workmanship of Rincon 3 is good. It uses bigger area of wear-resisting rubber on the outsole than last generation.The increased wear-resisting rubber is mainly on the position of forefoot sole. It only adds a small piece of wearing-resisting rubber on rear sole.
  7. Rincon 3 is more suitable for daily aerobic jogging.
  8. The location of Rincon 3 is a pair of lightweight training shoes. Omparing with Clifton series and Rincon series running shoes, its main advantages is lightweight and comfortable feeling. It’s suitable for intermediate and high level runners.
  9. After running about 80km, the exposed rear insole has abrasion, but the overall durability is improved than last generation.

Air Jordan 36 Performance Review

Many fans complaint that Air Jordan 36 looks ugly after it’s exposed. Recently, it’s finally released, it looks not bad, but I don’t like the firstly released colorway. What about the performance of Air Jordan 36? We will share some reviews of the performance of Air Jordan 36.


Air Permeability:
The air permeability of Air Jordan 36 is good. It’s said that the vamp of Air Jordan 36 is made of brand-new Leno-weave material which can reduce the unit weight of the shoes, so that the AJ36 can keeps lightweight and good strength.
Fitness:
The fitness of AJ36 is good. Although the vamp material is light, but the fitness is good. And we don’t need to worry about its supporting performance and anti-rollover performance.
Cushion Performance:
The insole of AJ36 uses full-length Zoom Air Strobel cushion with forefoot fanshaped Zoom Air cushion. The forefoot sole has double-deck cushion.
Abrasive Resistance:
The AJ36 has two kinds of outsole for your choice, that is, crystal outsole and XDR wear-resisting outsole. I suggest to choose the XDR outsole which is suitable for both indoor and outdoor courts.
Skid Resistance:
For the outsole, Air Jordan 36 still uses herringbone pattern. As you know, the traction performance of herringbone outsole is good. So that the skid resistance is also excellent.


AJ36 is more suitable for defenders, PG and shooters. When guaranteeing the lightweight, AJ36 also keeps good actual performance. But it’s unsuitable for center forward.
Size: The size of AJ36 is standard. But the shoe head of AJ36 is similar to AJ30, it will be a little tight.Overall, the center of gravity of AJ36 is a little high, you need to pay attention on the anti-rollover performance. But the vamp strength of AJ36 is good. The air permeability is excellent. The crystal outsole is soft, but as you know, the abrasive resistance will be worse if playing on outdoor court. If you like to play basketball on outdoor court, it’s better to choose the XDR outsole version.

UA HOVR cushioning technology

The front view of HOVR Mega 2 Clone: it uses crashproof shoe head design. THe shoe-tongue is integrated type design. The shoe-tongue and vamp are connected by elastic retractable belt. I haven’t felt tight after wearing.

The shoe-heel has external TPU plate which can support the soft knitted vamp and prevent torsion. It has good supporting and stabilizing performance.

The design point of Air Jordan XXXVI is light. Jordan brand uses light as the creative primary goal.
Air Jordan XXXVI use Leno-weave vamp with full-length Zoom Air Strobel cushion and Zoom Air cushion combination. The brand-new upgraded insole system not only keeps supporting strength and cushion performance, but also reduce the weight.

The light of Air Jordan XXXVI has three outstanding features and innovations.

The vamp of Air Jordan XXXVI uses Leno-weave material which can keep the vamp strength and reduce the weight. It can offer enough supporting performance to the players.

Under Armour Flow Velociti SE Performance Review

On the models of Under Armour with UA Flow technology, Flow Velociti is Under Armour’s current representative in the running shoes field. After Flow Velociti Wind, it released Flow Velociti SE which uses the knitted material to re-mark the vamp based on UA Flow technology. The vamp is thin but also has good elasticity.

Characteristics of Under Armour Flow Velociti SE:

  1. TheSE version uses socks type knitted vamp
  2. UA Flow technology makes integrated type insole and outsole.
  3. It can connects with UA MapMyRun APP.
  4. The drop height is 8mm. The height of forefoot sole is 18mm, and the height of shoe heel is 26mm.
  5. The unit weight of men’s size US9 is about 235g, and the unit weight of womensize is 221g.

The unit weight of Flow Velociti Wind and Flow Velociti SE is almost the same, the difference is only about 5g. The official described the UA Wrap vamp material of Flow Velociti Wind as “act like seatbelts on the foot”. If the vamp material of Flow Velociti Wind is so stable like seatbelts, then the knitted material of Flow Velociti SE should be “act like tights on the foot”, it can fit well but it won’t to be burden. As the flexibility of knitted material is high, if the size is right, it won’t loosen even if you haven’t fasten the shoelaces tightly.

UA Flow Velociti SE version uses integrated shoe tongue design. The fitness is excellent. It has heat emission holes on the position of instep and metatarsus. It uses TPU yarn on both sides of midsole extending to shoe heel to reinforce the important parts. It keeps the air permeability and supporting performance of the request of running shoes. And the inside of shoe heel keeps thickened pad.

The UA Flow foam is developed by Dow Chemical Company and Under Armour. Dow Chemical Company also participated in the design of UA HOVR technology. UA Flow has excellent anti-skid performance. After testing the abrasive resistance of UA Flow, Under Armour decides to give up the rubber material of outsole. UA Flow is used as insole and outsole. It not only offer lightweight but has excellent anti-skid performance. It reduces more than 50g than using traditional rubber outsole.

It uses the insole as outsole, many people would doubt it’s abrasive resistance. We have ran more than 30km and daily dressing for the model of Flow Velociti Wind, except the disappearing the shallow lines on the edges, the other patterns are still obvious. UA Flow technology is light and can offer good energy feedback.

The brand-new UA Havoc Clone uses two technologies UA Clone vamp technology and HOVR & Micro G insole technology.

NIKE ZOOM Freak 3 Performance Review

The NIKE Zoom Freak 3 has been released. As a pair of breakthrough basketball shoes, the guys pay close attention to the configuration.


Is the NIKE Zoom Freak 3 wear-resisting?
The outsole of NIKE Zoom Freak 3 uses XDR rubber. The abrasive resistance is good enough for playing on indoor court or outdoor plastic cement, but it needs to be careful if you want to play basketball on cement court.
When looking at the outsole pattern of NIKE Zoom Freak 3, I know that the traction performance of ZOOM FREAK 3 will be great. As you know, the traction performance of water ripple pattern is excellent.


Disadvantages:
If the outsole has obvious abrasion, the traction performance of water ripple pattern outsole is easy to descend than other kinds of outsole pattern. I only played 3 basketball games till now, so I can’t judge the abrasive resistance now. It needs time to test.


The protection is the biggest disadvantage of ZOOM FREAK 3. I can only mark 4 scores to the protection if the full mark is 10 scores. Although it has inner sleeve, but it only has a layer of thin plastic mesh fabric on the outside of inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is almost exposed. When moving, the shoes are easy to deform. The toes also can’t be protected well. If you are heavy and have good leg strength, the anti-rollover performance will be good, but I still felt unstable when moving.

NIKE PG5 Performance Review

The NIKE PG series basketball shoes have been released to the fifth generation. The attention to brand-new PG5 in the market is high in the market. Although it still uses air sole cushion technology, but it’s not soft as PG4. Maybe it’s due to the change of shoe-pad. Is PG5 worthy to purchase?

NIKE PG5 is not a pair of perfect shoes. It looks cheap. It doesn’t have obvious advantages, and it doesn’t use great technology, but I think that it doesn’t have big disadvantages.

Comparing with PG4, PG5 doesn’t have big upgrades on the configurations, but I think its actual performance is good. It’s a pity that Paul George haven’t worn it on the playoffs. But Reggie Jackson have worn it on the games, and his performance is excellent.

Fitness: The shoe shape is thin and long. The fitness is good. You can adjust the shoelaces to fit your foot. The upper is thickened to improve the comfort lvel. The shoe heel has pull-tab which is convenient to put on.

Cushion Performance: Although the insole of PG5 is still a little soft, but the feedback is obvious, it won’t be too indecisive and sloppy. If you like obvious feedback, you may like it.

Stability: The insole has upturning design. The outboard has small anti-rollover design. The forefoot outsole is not narrow design. The lateral support is not bad.

Anti-rollover Performance: The shoe heel has TPU plate, but it’s not strong. PG5 has anti-rollover supporting plate. I haven’t felt uncomfortable on the arch when playing basketball.

Air Permeability: The vamp uses thin hot-melting material. It’s similar to Jordan Zion 1. It has reinforced design on the important part. The forefoot vamp has good air permeability.

Traction Performance: The outsole of PG5 uses XDR material. Although the outsole pattern looks normal, but the actual performance is good. I have tested it on several different courts, the traction performance of PG5 is good. Even if playing on the court with dust, the traction performance is still good.

Abrasive Resistance: The abrasive resistance of PG5 is good. The outsole doesn’t have obvious abrasion. It should be suitable to play on the outdoor court.

Shoe tree: normal, but it’s a little narrow.

Size: The size is standard.

The cost performance of PG5 is good. If you like the appearance, you can have a try.

ASICS NovaBlast 2 Performance Review

For a long time, ASICS focused on the practicality of running shoes, it seemed too conservative. But in the past two years, ASICS is keeping on enriching its running shoes, and it releases many running shoes with significant changes in technological materials and design concepts.

For example, the NovaBlast series running shoes were released on 2020, it’s hot-welcomed after releasing. And the brand-new NovaBlast 2 has made some improvements based on NovaBlast, including the vamp, insole and outsole. It improves the stability and comfort level.

It infused some new elements on the design of NovaBlast 2. It’s not only suitable for running, but also suitable for daily dressing.

The vamp of NovaBlast 2 is upgraded to be double-deck jacquard weave mesh fabric which improves the air permeability and fitness. It’s more comfortable. And the shoe heel has built-in TPU stabilizing plate which fix the heel well. It improves the stability obviously.

The insole material is the soul of running shoes. ASICS NovaBlast 2 uses FlyteFoam material on the insole. The FlyteFoam material is mixed by the organic fibre, which can offer limited deformation under overload. It means that it has both suspension and stability.

After developing the FlyteFoam insole composite material for several years, the lightweight and resilience of FlyteFoam Blast material is more excellent. ASICS NovaBlast 2 uses more FlyteFoam Blast material.

ASICS NovaBlast 2 optimized the insole shape. It uses dissymmetry design. It widened the insole and adjust the drop height to be 8mm. It’s more suitable for the request of runners.

The outsole of ASICS NovaBlast 2 uses invaginated groove design. By combining with FlyteFoam Blast insole, it can offer better comfort and flexibility. NovaBlast 2 uses more AHAR abrasion resistant rubber on the areas where are easy to wear and tear. It prolongs the working life of running shoes.

After wearing the NovaBlast 2, the first feeling is the light weight. NovaBlast 2 uses thick insole, but the unit weight of EUR44 is only about 289g. It’s very light.

When running, the fitness of vamp is comfortable. The stabilizing plate on the shoe heel improves the overall stability obviously. Based on the usage of FlyteFoam Blast material, the lightweight and resilience of NovaBlast 2 are excellent. Even the long-distance running, the resilient feedback is still fast and strong.

I’m not worried about the abrasive resistance of NovaBlast 2 outsole.  The AHAR abrasion resistance rubber are extensive used. The working life of ASICS running shoes are prolonged. After running about 100km, the outsole doesn’t have obvious abrasion.

Overall, the fitness, comfort level, supporting performance, cushion performance and abrasive resistance of NovaBlast 2 are excellent. The appearance design is different with previous running shoes. It looks nice. It’s not only suitable for running training, but also suitable for daily dressing.
