The Performance Review of Adidas Adizero series Running Shoes

In 2021, Adidas combines its innovative technology by the combination of carbon fiber plate and high-efficient insole feedback to create three brand-new running shoes with different performance for the runners: adizero Prime X is innovative running shoe for the extreme speed, adizero adios Pro 2 is the strongest racing shoe for breaking record, and adizero Boston 10 is the lightweight training shoe. The main colorway is white, and decorated with red-orange.

Adidas combines its three top-level technologies and develops the thickest 50mm carbon fiber lightweight racing shoes: adizero Prime X.
Adidas adizero Prime X uses three layers of Lightstrike PRO insole, a clawed carbon fiber which simulates bone structure of human foot is inserted into the midsole of Lightstrike PRO in the forefoot area to bring extreme lightness and excellent cushion performance. Another layer is added with innovative technology EnergyBlades to improve the strength and excellent resilience, it can absorb the impact force when running.

The vamp of Adidas adizero Prime X is made of Celermesh 2.0 technology, which not only intensify the air permeability, but also offer excellent fitness and supporting performance. With the ContinentalTM outsole, it keeps the good stability and also offer explosible energy feedback.

Kenya women’s runnner Peres Jepchirchir and men’s runner Kibiwott Kandie wore the adizero adios Pro and broke the world record of half-marathon. Now Adidas created adizero adios Pro 2 for breaking the record. It pursues the extreme lightweight to help the runners breaking through theirselves.

Adidas adizero adios Pro 2 uses upgraded Lightstrike PRO insole structure. The weight is reduced about 30g than last generation. It offers lighter weight and more comfortable cushion. The double layers of LightstrikePRO insole is embedded with EnergyRods stabilizing device to reduce the energy loss when exercising and transfer the cushioning effect to strong propulsion. The vamp of Adidas adizero adios Pro 2 uses brand-new upgraded Celermesh 2.0 technology. The shoe heel is installed with carbon fiber and nylon mixed stabilizing plate. It offers excellent stability and fitness to the runners when sprinting. The forefoot sole uses ContinentalTM rubber. It offers extreme lightweight and excellent traction performance.

The Adidas adizero Boston 10 is made for medium and long distance training. It’s the first time that it uses Lightstrike PRO and Lightstrike insole technologies, which offer light and flexible experience. The thickened insole design has better resilience. It’s added with EnergyRods stabilizing device and heelpiece carbon fiber plate, which offers excellent propulsion and support. The vamp is made of lightweight mesh fabric. It’s light and has excellent air permeability. With wearable ContinentalTM outsole, it can also offer excellent traction performance and stability even if training on raining days.

The brand-new Adidas adizero series running shoes have been released. If you are interested in them, you can have a try on the physical store.

UltraBOOST 19 Refract Performance Review

It’s been several years since Kimeto broke the world record in his BOOST and in these years, BOOST has also been upgrading its technology and performances. But when the UltraBOOST 19 Refract was released, many questioned, “can this UltraBOOST 19 Refract lives up to the reputation of BOOST series?” The answer is here.

It’s safe to say that Adidas attaches great importance to this UltraBOOST 19. First of all, it continuously released several quite limited colorways, each having its own corresponding design inspiration. Then it also signed up @adidasrunning on Instagram.

The designer of UltraBOOST 19 Refract limited colorway was inspired by urban LED lights and then he integrated the primary colors of red, green and blue into the woven upper for a stylish and colorful look.

(the adidas logo on tongue and bump toe)

Looking at the vamp, this colorway gives me a sense of unity with its layered colors and different shades especially on the forefoot with a streak of red.

The strip on the heel is adidas’ latest 3D Heel technology, a change from the previous one: the bulk has been changed to a strip, which provides support and stability while reducing the weight of the shoe and making it look better. An “ULTRABOOST” is also printed in the middle of the strip.

Since the forefoot upper is where the most stress is placed on the running shoe’s bending, and given the impact resistance and edge support, the one-piece knit upper (Primeknit 360 ) of UltraBOOST 19 Refract isn’t just a single piece of uniformly thick fabric. Instead, the fabric is knitted to different thicknesses depending on the forces applied. In other words, the Primeknit 360 technology allows for the use of different Weave methods to increase density and thickness.

I was shocked when I lifted up the insole, which is made of the same material as the body, with no stitching around it. And with its sock liner design, the UltraBOOST 19 Refract seems like a sock with the look of a running shoe!

The laces could really be considered a showpiece if they weren’t being used as running shoes.

The insoles are plain and of average thickness.

Adidas has always been proud of BOOST midsole(Optimized BOOST) which had been increased 20% more than the previous version. And when viewed from a top-down angle, both the forefoot and heel have BOOST material extension to provide more efficient cushioning support!

The wear-resistant rubber outsole is not designed as a single piece, but designed in many small pieces, which provides better slip resistance and thus can handle more road conditions.

In the middle of the sole is the torsion spring system (Torsion Spring). The pink liquid-like design is quite special, but not abrupt.

A single shoe of size 43 weighs 327g, about which I’m a bit surprised because I was expecting it to be under 300g. But maybe it is the one piece knit upper that takes up a lot of the weight. But anyway, I think it’s worth sacrificing the weight for a comfortable foot feel.

The production of the UltraBOOST 19 Refract has been pared down from the original “17” pieces of material to the current “4” pieces. The above image shows a teardown of an earlier UltraBOOST shoe on the left and the latest UltraBOOST 19 Laser Red limited edition on the right.

Torsion Spring anti-torsion system connects the forefoot to the heel through the front and rear forks for improved stability.

The redesigned 3D Heel is more aesthetically pleasing and lighter in weight, and maintains the same mechanical properties.

The first time I wore it, I felt my feet were incredibly tightly locked. I could feel the wrapping from all directions; so I just ditched my laces before long.

overall

UltraBOOST 19 running shoes are highly expected. They inherit the excellent setups of UltraBOOST and are rigorous, professional and lively with innovative technology application. Primeknit 360 knit upper can theoretically be paired with a myriad of colors; it is also a three-dimensional upper that can distinguish different forces and is specifically designed for running. If you’re a beginner , you can enjoy Adidas’s first-rate running shoe technology; If you’re a senior runner, UltraBOOST 19 also offers you top-notch protection and support. So in a nutshell,  it’s a great running shoe for most people.

Adidas Pro Model 2G Performance Review

The debut of this Adidas Pro Model 2G , from my point of view, was impressive when I was wearing it for a basketball match. Admittedly, the features that make this shoe outstanding is its fantastic technologies. Some reviewers said that the shoe performs nicely that it can live up to its reputation. Objectively speaking, this is ture.

Of course, the 2019 version is definitely not as simple as the OG original, or it would have been totally out of sight and disappeared from the market. The original EVA in the midsole has been replaced by adidas’s particular  Bounce cushioning ,which is printed at the heel, and at the mean time, the price of this model remains affordable, which is sure to be great news for many fans.

As for its appearance, I think that the chance that this Adidas Pro Model 2G will be out of fashion is indeed slim. Adidas’ shoes are, for the most part, of classical models and have a dominating position in the market. The combination of the balck and white is simple but do not lack delicateness.

After several rounds on inside court, the shoe’s feature is seen clearly: the Bounce is quite bouncy and also responsive and it even becomes more resilient when there is pressure. For the wrapping, it is of traditional type, which means this is an ordinary respect for the shoe. Notwithstanding the hard leather vamp, there is no doubt whatsoever that the overall wearing experience is nice.

The stiff toe, which is authentically the same as that of adidas Super Star, can be a bit bothering though, but you will get used to it some time later. But for wide footers, I do not think it will be a friendly model.

In some cases, the reason many people will buy one model is because of the so called “Feelings”. And this goes the same for me. Since there are a lot of excellent shoe with high-tech setups in the market, many people do not lack an excellent model in their shoe closet. Therefore, many poeple now return to the “Feelings” to memorize their past.

Because the vamp is made of light leather, the performance of air permeability of course slump greatly and the leather deforms easily. Honestly, this is a fatal point and it sets some fans back.

The sole of the fish-bone grain has nice grip and hitherto there hasn’t been any slipping phenomenon. On my combat at weekends, it peroformed far better than I had expected. But for the said Bounce, I still need some time to get used to it.

Back to the issue that matters most: the price. I should say that the shoe is actually affordable. As the New Year has just passed by and with such a friendly price, why not pick up  a pair of Adidas Pro Model 2G to welcome your another new start.

What really matters is that the shoes you bought or you are going to buy is not just a nice basketball shoe, but also an experience and a memory.

A Close Look at Adidas D Rose 1

For many fans, the Derrick Rose has always been the favorite basketball star in the bottom of their heart and it is the case for me as well. It is certain that the reason we are attracted by a person is because he/she has some gracious spirits. And Derrick Rose is just the guy like whom we are looking forward to becoming. He is a like a stubborn grass that is still able to regain the courage and strength to face life even if he has suffered a lot of pain.

And it is thrilling hearing that Derrick Rose has regained self-confidence for we fans and we are always there to support him as well as Rose series. So from the perspective of we fans, this Adidas D Rose 1 must be a fascinating model.

After Rose was integrated into Adidas, the brand has released 13 pairs of signature shoes of the 10th edition and Rose is also the 8th player in the NBA to have 10 consecutive versions of signature shoes of the same brand. Since last year, Adidas began to redesigned Derrick Rose’s AdiZero Rose 1.5 and Adidas D Rose 4 and good news is that adiZero Rose will keep the appointment as scheduled and will be available in the near future.

Long before adidas and Derrick Rose’s plan to release a Retro of Rose’s original signature shoe, many fans including me are looking forward to retro shoes of this series and the wish was finally realized; maybe this is the so called “there will be reverberations if you always bear it in mind.”

Rumor has it that “it seems more Derrick Rose Retro releases are underway because the images leak of a brand new version of the adidas adiZero Rose 1.” Anyway, let’s just wait and see. I believe time will reveal the answer for all of us.

I’ve brought with me two colorways of this Adidas D Rose 1 that Derrick Rose was expected to wear at this year’s NBA all-star skills challenge in Chicago. The white one is designed in homage to Rose with embroidered roses on the medial panel while the rest of the build is done in suede. The independent GeoFit system is still in the ankle collar while PureMotion, adiPrene cushioning, SprintFrame and a Cilia traction are all features of the shoes.

Although the releasing date is still unknown, it is certain that it will arouse a great deal of popularity. Of this latest adiZero Rose 1 we can see some novel details which are compelling.

Overall:

Notwithstanding the unavailability of the shoes right now, we can still expect something of it and see what surprises it can bring to us. Anyway, I think the most important thing we learn from Derrick is that even in the face of setbacks and heartbreaking trouble, we have the right to change our fate and make it better.

Adidas DAME 6 “Ruthless” Performance Review

With this season’s Leonard irregular scoring explosion, it is certain that there will be more surprises. And it is lucky that in early 2020 there finally came Adidas’s DAME 6,Lillard’s sixth signature shoe and the third model of Adidas that adopts lightstrike. Adidas DAME has always been a reputable and popular series with its shoes having outstanding appearance and practical performances. So when Adidas DAME 6 “Ruthless” was released, it is a model looked forward to by many fans.

Absolutely, this impressive DAME 6 has an overall bright appearance. Many people even observed that the shoes are “unforgettable” after the first sight. The DAME 6 that oftenest performs like a beast on court is worthy of the name “Ruthless”. Over the years, for me, DAME 1-5 has not been missed and certainly, this DAME 6 should also be included.

With the exception of the midsole, the materials of the other parts of the shoe are of average components. However, with the existing technologies, Adidas added some details into the shoes which looks more inviting, right? The inside and outside asymmetrical vamp has been added with reflective materials whereas the  shoelaces are equipped with corresponding color + reflective material. On top of that, the tongue and the logo above it, the collar and the outsole are all compelling details of the shoes.

The layers of the mesh and shoelace make this pair of shoes a far cry model from others. The Adidas logo hidden on the outside of the heel forms a nice view with the horizontal stripes at the heel. And also,, the tongues of the shoes are made different, which is fantastic.

When the DAME 6 first came out, I felt it quite familiar, which was also confirmed later. In  retrospect, this yin-yang match had been seen in CP3 7 while that of DAME 6 was completed.

There is padding added inside the ankle and the wrapping is not bad as well providing that you pick the right size.

The fish bone grain + deep grains, from the perspective grip and durability,  are of great help. Looking  carefully at the sole, you may find that  the depth of the scratch is not consistent: the front foot and the heel  grains are deeper while the middle scratch is much shallower.

The midsole technology LIGHTSTRIKE is printed on the heel, which is distinctive and recognizable. But the problem is that the shoe have twisted signs after you wear it for only several times.

The first impression you will get when you put on the shoes is that the shoes are quite light weight and soft. Notwithstanding there are very few shoelace holes, the wrapping is still online.

overall:

In the preliminary testing,  I also brought with me two other pairs of shoes that also use LUGHTSTRIKE: ,N3XT L3V3L+ HARDEN 4. At the moment, the biggest feeling of LIGHTSTRIKE lingering on my mind is  that it is light in weight and quick in response. However, the cushioning can only be said to be above average. For these three pairs that use LIGHTSTRIKE, the cushioning is: N3XT L3V3L > DAME 6 > HARDEN 4. If you don’t require too much of the cushioning, then this is a nice model for you and you might as well take it into consideration.

Adidas UltraBOOST 19 Refract Performance Review

I remembered in 2015 when Adidas UltraBOOST 15 was launched, lots of people were dreaming to get one pair of the shoes including me and my intimate friends who were quite into sports. Then four yeas later, Adidas released another new cushioning shoes which can be on top of other models concerning the cushioning respect. Luckily, I got one pair of  this UltraBOOST 19 Refract  and be here to give the review and share with you my experience.

To begin with, I want to talk about the setups at the heel. Just imagine that how fantastic it is to wear a pair of shoes with neon effect at the heels. Awesome, isn’t it?! Now it is not a dream; the UltraBOOST 19 Refract can satisfy you. The 3D heel with stable structure is a highlight of the shoe. The heel of this limited colorway is designed with many thin, three-dimensional neon lines with hollow holes, as is shown in the images below.

The design in the above picture is to  increase the stability of the heel:  it maintains the pace of the normal dynamic and makes landing more stable.

IN terms of the vamp, it is a one-piece knit upper: the Primeknit 360. The different colors of the upper make the whole shoe somewhat striking in appearance. The upper extends from the toe to the heel, making the shoes like a pair of socks.

The Primeknit 360 is some kind of  a stretchable and breathable knitting technology that will not press your feet. Another merit is that the vamp is super breathable and elastic, so when there is stiff breeze, you can even feel it under your feet. However, this advantage may become a disadvantage on rainy days,so the shoes are not recommended under the circumstance. And simple as the upper looks, the craft is said to be quite complex.

By observing the UltraBOOST 19 Refract carefully, you will find that there are two kinds of densities in different parts of the vamp.

The craggy knitting in the vamp can enhance the three-dimensional feeling of the shoes. And the protruding white part and the dark red part, and the green and blue dazzle color line form a contrast with distinct convexity and concave.

The edge of the shoe is densely woven, and the weaving is also different from the vamp weaving technology. In contrast to the rough upper, the edge of the shoe is smooth and delicate. Besides, the compact weave supports the entire shoe and the internal setup called support shaping patch helps make a more excellent wrapping.

Observing from the observe, you will see that the red line is to the shoe what a “punchline” is to an awesome  essay”. But for the red lines, the shoe would look very monotonous.

UltraBOOST 19 Refract uses the Stretchweb tech in the outsole as well. Benefiting from that, the sole can handle different kinds of floors easily; the Stretchweb outsole has been tested for years to be able to handle both wet and dry floor. Even if in the face of rugged grounds, it still performs nicely. But what is bothering is that the sole is white, which gets dirty easily.

With regard to the midsole tech, UltraBOOST 19 Refract uses Optimized BOOST 20% more than the first version. Thanks to that, many reviewers also observe that the midsole is far softer than other  UltraBOOST shoes and the bounce it offers lasts longer.

Here I also make a simple comparison between energy boost and UltraBOOST 19 Refract. You can see from the pictures that the Optimized BOOST in the forefoot and the heel have been both increased.

dav

However, this Optimized BOOST is somewhat different from the usual ones: this new Optimized BOOST sole eliminates the small bumps and replaces them with denser dots.

In the process of running a single shoe can provide excellent power support passed through the Torsion Spring which is a anti-twist system.

The Torsion Spring is embedded between the  Optimized BOOST and the outsole. It is much lighter than the previous Torsion Syestem, thus bringing less burden to wearers.

Instead of the hollow thick and hard TPU, the newly upgraded soft and transparent TPU feels nicer and sticks to your feet better.

When I was testing the shoes, there were some other surprises. I found that the short plush on the insole is a slightly tilted horizontal arrangement so that it can effectively prevent the occurrence of slippage .

Here is an attention tip: do wear light-colored socks because the lateral plush on the insole will rub down the fluff of the dark-colored socks.

When I was testing the shoes, it was dirt cold outside. However, the Optimized BOOST soles did not fail me:it protected my feet from wintry weather and freezing temperatures.

The shoe is overall to my satisfaction. It is not only cool in the appearance, but it can go with any outfit, quite simple and nice. To sum up, it is reliable model and worth your trust and try. If you want to get one pair, then you’d better take action now for it is a shopping-rush goods .

Adidas Dame Lillard 6 Performance Review

To begin with, the most impressive setup of Adidas Dame Lillard 6, from  my perspective, is the cushioning which has been equipped with Lightstrike technology. Compared with that of the Harden 4 and N3XT L3V3L, the cushion of Adidas Dame Lillard 6 is rather soft but causes no bother because it offers the right amount of feedback. So if you are interested in cushioning and attach great importance to it, then I highly recommend it to you.

There is a saying that if you care about the cushioning, then just consider shoes with Lightstrike technology; if you care about cushioning and foot feeling, then consider this Lillard 6.

It is no exaggeration that Lillard 6 can bear comparison with the Ultra Boost which once enjoyed a high reputation. But there is a fatal problem: the durability of Lightstrike of Adidas Dame Lillard 6 might not be as nice as we had expected. As for the detail concerning this respect, I will talk about it later.

What is interesting is that none of Adidas’s signature shoes this year use boost technology while the lillard and harden models adopt full foot LightStrike.

Having learned some details about the Lillard 6 , I know that Adidas is trying to find a reasonable price that matches for the setups. So when it comes to the shoe’s wrapping, I would like to share with you my experience. When I got the shoes earlier, I had high expectation of it and so I wore it out to do some testing. The first feeling I’d got was the wrapping was nice except that the forefoot was a bit spacious; in other words, there was extra room in the fore part. Many reviewers also observed that that was a fly in the ointment of the wrapping.

Like harden 4, the shoelaces of Lillard 6 can not control the tightness of forefoot and the vamp is not elastic enough, causing the wrapping insufficient. But from my point of view, Lillard 6 has done a far better job than Harden 4 which makes you feel you are wearing nothing. So for those with slender feet I won’t recommend this  Lillard 6.

The four pairs of lacing holes seem to make no difference in enhancing the existing wrapping  while the only merit of the vamp is the heel lock.

Seeing the “tail” attached to the heel, some may be wondering what functions can it bring?

Well, do not expect too much of it: the “tail” is just something of a decoration. But the “tail”  is made of soft material, so you do not have to worry about being stuck.

Then it’s time to talk about stability of the shoe which is said to be the part with the most flaws.

There are mainly three elements consisting of anti-rollover performance: moderate gravity, obvious rollover angle and reinforcement in the outside. Having tested the shoe, I found the shoe has no reinforcement. But it does not mean terrible midsole stability, it is still enough for average players.

But like the city’s 8,kobe 360, the lillard 6 has also a spherical outsole on its heel. I’ve always been trying to explain this special design which has never been seen in previous editions. For my money, the spherical outsole in the heel indeed brings more flexibility and more outstanding cushioning performance.

A fatal problem of the shoe is that with a spherical outsole in the heel, lillard 6 has a high center of gravity in the rear part and with the changeable Lightstrike, it is likely that there will be rollover phenomenon.

Albeit there are some complaints about this design, the good news is that Adidas is ready to walk out of its comfortable zone and try new things. Under the circumstance, we can get some more surprises one day.

With regards the traction, Lillard 6 performs not bad, at least far better than Harden 4 which causes much slipping. As for durability of the sole, it is not as nice as the traction. Made of soft  rubber material, the sole can not stand the “torture” of the cement ground.

Overall:

To sum up, the shoe’s wrapping is not so striking and the shoe is more than suitable for wide footers; the durability of both the sole and the vamp is moderate. But having said that, the shoe still has eye-catching merits: the cushioning is fantastic and feedback is sufficient and responsive. Then when asked about the durability of Lightstrike I mentioned at the beginning, I want to say that the only word surging into my mind is nice! If you want to buy this model, there is another word for you: wait! The price at the moment is a bit high, so you can just wait some more days.
