The Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” was a special version of the Air Jordan 3 Retro made exclusively for a charity auction designed to support the relief efforts if the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. The Katrina Jordans are also the subject of a rumor – one that pins this super-rare pair of Jordans as a Retro release for this March. What was originally a blind guess continues to still be, because according to a dependable source jmadidas2001 on Niketalk, the rumor is flat-out untrue.
The Air Jordan 3 ‘Katrina’ was designed by Jordan Brand apart of a charity auction to support relief to those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Not only was the Air Jordan 3 apart of the Hurricane Katrina Collection but many others. However for 2017, Jordan Brand will release them this time in Quickstrike form while featuring Nike Air on the heel.
Jordan Brand originally produced the rare sample of this Air Jordan 3 back in 2006. The overall look is similar that of the ‘Fire Red’ and ‘Cement’ Air Jordan 3.
For 2017, they will come with the traditional White and Red theme. Featuring White across the leather uppers, Red will be used on part of the midsole, liner and branding. In addition we will have elephant print around the toe and heel while Grey covers the outsole. Finishing the look will be Nike Air branding on the heel. This White and Red sample edition of the Air Jordan 3 was produced back in 2006 and was highly popular by a lot of sneakerheads. The shoe offers somewhere between a combination of the “Fire Red” and “Cement” Air Jordan 3s, but this particular colorway never released to the public.
In fact, the imagery of the assumed 2014 release of the Katrina Air Jordan 3 that is currently floating around is actually an old photo from 2006, taken by mjo23dan on NT of a Jordan Brand product showcase/display. So, there you have it; the Air Jordan III “Katrina” is still a rumor – one that is pretty much debunked at this point – and the White/Cement Grey-Infrared 23-Black pair that is slated to drop on March 8th, 2014 is without question a completely different shoe.
Katrina Air Jordan 3 Release Date
The Katrina Air Jordan 3 is scheduled to release at select Jordan Brand retailers during November 2017. This of course will be the first time this particular model will make a retail appearance.
Currently a specific release date or retail price has yet to be announced, but once we have more information, we will make sure to update. For now, visit the comments section and let us know what you think of the sought after Air Jordan 3 Katrina releasing.

Celebrating the finals, the NikeID Premium Cork Collection is inspired by winning the NBA Finals and popping champagne in the locker room.

The brand would revamp the Air Force 1 in 1986 which was available in high, low and mid top. Years have past and Nike continues to release the Air Force 1 also known as the AF1 in different colors, materials and even collaborations with other influencers. Michael Jordan shocked the world on October 6th, 1993. He announced his retirement from the game of basketball and decided to hang up his signature sneakers to become a baseball player.
Not only was Michael Jordan defying gravity and schooling opponents, but his Air Jordans were sought after because everybody wanted to be like Mike.
It wasn’t all fun and games though. In 1985 NBA commissioner David Stern banned Michael from wearing the Air Jordan 1 in black/red due to not meeting the NBA’s dress code. Each time Michael wore them, he would be finned $5,000. Nike saw this and took on a perfect marketing ploy. They would pay Jordan’s fines and released a commercial giving this pair the nickname “Banned”.
Tinker Hatfield and Nike scrambled to keep the Air Jordan line alive and well, and the Jordan 9 ended up becoming a unique outlier in the Jumpman signature series given that the man who it was named after was busy tying his cleats extra tight in the minor leagues and riding a charter bus from small Midwestern town to smaller Midwestern town. It looks like Jordan Brand will be paying tribute to that time in Mike’s alternate athletic career with an upcoming Air Jordan 9 that features unique tumbled leather and woven side panels imitating the webbing of a baseball glove. The premium black leather upper is contrasted by a white lining while baseball ribbon stitching hits the heel along with ’45’ PE branding in a nod to MJ’s baseball and basketball comeback number. There’s no word yet on a Release Date but stay tuned for more info on this oddity called the Air Jordan 9 Baseball Glove right here

Now it’s one of the most sought-after and highest-priced NMD’s on the secondary market. For those still after a pair, perhaps these will be an acceptable—and much cheaper—alternative. The hottest sneaker silhouette on Earth arrives in a look quite similar to the original “Key to the City” colorway by adidas Consortium, featuring a black Primeknit upper with black reflective stripes and grey midsole inserts. While this GR version has less reflective detailing than the OG Consortium release, the similarities between the two are certainly enough to make these a must-have for NMD aficionados.
Meantime the grey colorways for the adidas NMD R1 have already rolled in today, and now we get a first look at a fourth. Again in a “Glitch Camo” motif for the Primeknit upper like the grey/linen and grey/olive/pink renditions seen earlier, these feature a nice blend of white, cream, and light grey with the three stripes in three different shades
For two different colorway ,which one do you like ?
Let us stay tuned .
Every shoe that a footwear designer creates will eventually be released in the future, of course.
Typically, that’ll be around 12-18 months later on, but back in 1988, Tinker Hatfield was working on a project set some 27 years in the future.
The shoe, the Nike MAG, was to be featured in the “Back To The Future 2” movie a year later in the late 80s, and it would go on to become one of the most iconic sneakers in pop culture.
“In 2015, a sneaker is still a sneaker!” Tinker playfully noted on one sketch.
“I thought about the year 2015,” Hatfield recalls. “And I had a strong opinion that shoes might be somewhat intelligent and able to turn on and become alive in the future.”
With that initial insight in mind, that shoes would incorporate power in some way, Hatfield sketched a veering, sleekened high-top sneaker with “power laces.” One sketch even featured “growing Air bags.”
Check out several of Tinker Hatfield’s original Nike MAG sketches below in our latest Sneaker Sketch of the Week, and stay tuned for more launch news tomorrow of the 2016 version of the MAG.
Oscars presentation was nothing if not entertaining. There was a mix up on the biggest award of the evening, celebrities were caught napping in the audience, and a random tour bus full of vacationers entered the ceremony in an odd yet hilarious exchange. But what caught the attention of any sneakerhead tuning in was the appearance of Seth Rogan alongside Michael J. Fox.
Rogan took the stage in a crispy pair of the Nike MAG accompanied by Fox in the DeLorean. They took the stage to present the Oscar for Achievement in Film Editing to John Gilbert for his work on Hacksaw Ridge. See for yourself below.
This is by far the largest haul of the three-part auction process that took place in both Shanghai and London. The Shanghai auction pulled in a stellar $104,000, with the London auction bringing in roughly half of that at $56,000.
This pair packs Pelicans pantones, placing gold accents on a red upper. However, while similarities exist, it appears to be more so an homage to Marty McFly’s 2015 outfit, showing nods to his red vest and color shifting cap.
